Help Support Abigail Curtin-O'Connell and Down Syndrome Ireland

why i ride

This is Abigail Curtin - O'Çonnell. She is a very sociable 7 year girl old and has Down Syndrome. She has multiple heart defects and has had many operations to fix them. She is getting by with only one half of her heart working properly but is doing very well and is a very happy and healthy looking little girl.
Abigail likes mixing with people and taking care of babies and anyone who looks like they might be in need of a hug. She loves music dancing and swimming but her favourite thing in the world is her iPad which she uses to browse all her favourite videos on youtube.
Abigail goes to school in Scoil Eannna which is part of the cope foundation. She loves school and can't wait to get on the school bus every morning.
Her main challenges at the moment are developing her independence skills, feeding, speaking, dressing and the like but she is progressing well with all of these.
On Thursday August 8th, leisure cyclist Arthur van Leeuwen embarked on a 640km journey through all the counties of Munster that will last four days culminating with an ascent of the viciously steep and much vaunted " Patricks Hill " in Cork City.
He is taking this challenge on to raise money for Down Syndrome Ireland to help them provide much needed services for those affected by this debilitating condition in Cork City like Abigail.
Abigail avails of most of the services Down Syndrome Ireland provide in Cork such as speech therapy, physio, occupational therapy and school.
100% of all the donations he receives will go directly to provide these services.

I am taking this challenge on to raise money for Down Syndrome Ireland to help them provide much needed services for those affected by this debilitating condition in Cork City.
I am hoping to raise at least €3000 for Down Syndrome and Abigail

100% of all the donations i receive will go directly to provide these services.

I personally will cover all of the costs related to doing these cycles which include food, accomodation, cycling gear and training rides which will amount to over €1500.
